Elements of Surprise
Commercial spaces often seem difficult to design because their purpose is very diverse. It’s important to take into account that their target audience has different genders, social groups and ages, commercial spaces are to say the least a melting pot. Although it seem difficult to establish a concept when designing commercial spaces, I have the feeling that it would a lot of fun. You can play with so many things and mix furniture styles, finishes, colors, everything you need to express a fun and unique style.
I love the elements of surprise in restaurant or hotels, like sculptures or unusual artistic elements that make an ordinary place impressive and rememberable.
Here are some pictures that have inspired me for my commercial space collection.
I would love to see something like this in a coffee shop or a hotel lobby:
No doubt this is my favorite design, the colors are fantastic. I would use it in my house if I could.
Beautiful Sparkly wall. It would look great in silver too.
Big, huge collection. Coffee cups, cd’s, colorful chairs, any other ideas?
The world upside down. In a restaurant with tables and chairs on the roof.
Helping customers decide which book to read
Never lack silverware on the table.
Something as simple as that. Huge chalkboard walls with fun an interesting design. A stomping foot above your head?
