Lilly Pulitzer, Spill-Proof Colorful Designs
Yesterday the fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer died in Palm Beach, Florida. She was 81. So today I wanted to celebrate the life of such a colorful person with some of the things she loved the most, colors and bright prints.
The story of the beginning of her career is so charming and bright just like the funny and happy style of her designs. Her career began when she opened a juice stand in 1959 and started wearing dresses in colorful prints to camouflage the fruit stains. Suddenly people started asking for dresses more than juice! When Jacqueline Kennedy, was photographed wearing one of Pulitzer’s dresses, she made Lilly a star. And her bright fashion career started.
Color is a yes in her designs, always bright and spill-proof.
Enjoy! Have a wonderful beginning of the week. xo, Elba
