Giant Bubbles of Color
Looking at this my first thought was, don’t you think that’s what babies feel like when they’re still in the belly?
Imagine yourself walking through all this color and movement, it would be a magic moment for sure! I’m wondering if I would feel claustrophobic looking at these colorful bubbles moving and getting closer, what would these colors make you feel?
The name of the project is “Homogenizing and Transforming World” by Tokyo based Team Lab, it is part of the exhibition Distilling Senses: A Journey through Art and Technology in Asian Contemporary Art, at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. It’s an interactive installation, bubbles change color when are touched and produce sounds depending on the color. Another cool thing is that the balls send color information to the other bubbles close by, they start changing to the same color and making the same sounds, like an eco. It’s an analogy of the power of communication via the internet, and how we process information and share it with others, creating a similar effect, a huge global Eco.
