In case you don’t know what it is, papel picado is basically perforated or punched paper sheets cut into beautiful designs and used to decorate Day of the Dead altars. The best part, it’s sooo colorful! I used to make them for the ofrenda with my mom and my sister when I was living in Mexico. Getting together to talk anecdotes about my grandpa while we put together the altar de muertos was one of my favorite traditions. It was just really special.Inspired by my positive childhood memories about Day of the Dead, I designed this adorable papel picado printable. The fun twist about this papel picado, is that this is a coloring page where the kids can doodle and color. After they are ready, cut them and make a colorful garland that you can hang on your walls, refrigerator and decorate the altar. The papel picado adds a festive feeling to the tradition, and it's one of the fun things that the kids can help you make so they feel involved and part of this unique celebration.Head over latinamom.me for the full tutorial – Day of the Dead Printable Papel PicadoLet the kids doodle and color this adorable papel picado printable and make a colorful garland that you use to decorate your Day of the Dead altar. | LiveColorful.com
