BEHIND THE SCENES: Inspiration Time
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is beautiful! Looking for inspiration in new places for a refreshing perspective.
Recently my sister and I started working together but living in different countries has made things a bit tricky. Lali lives in Mexico City and I’m in California. We make crafts, take pictures and share ideas and inspiration everyday. We’ll try to share a behind the scenes every month so so you can get to know us better and hopefully we can give you some advice about collaborating online, blogging, creative business, design process, working with family and more.
Guys, we totally forgot to share the behind the scenes last month because we got distracted in Puerto Vallarta.
We saw each other there the last week of August. The weather was great and the views from the hotel were amazing. Everyone needed some beach time so badly. My parents, Jordan and Jaxy were there too, it was a family trip. Lali and I took advantage of the occasion and got to work on some projects down there.
We also went to the city a few times and got to visit some handcraft mercaditos. We couldn’t stop taking pictures, everything was really colorful. The artisans working in their local studios was really inspiring. We saw how they worked with blown glass art and the amazing beaded huichol art that is really popular in the area.
Just a few days before we left, we were talking about how much time we spend on Pinterest and how we need to start looking for ideas and inspiration in new places to feel creative and create original content.
THE FUN OF WORKING TOGETHER:
- Puerto Vallarta was so much fun.
- Lali also had a great time dressing Benito with that ridiculously adorable unicorn costume. I got to see the process via FaceTime and it was hilarious.
THE DIFFICULTY OF WORKING TOGETHER:
- Crafting alone is not as much fun as crafting together.
OUR LIVES THIS MONTH:
Me, on the other hand, have being held as a slave to an 8 month old baby that is currently crawling and learning to walk. I’m running behind him all the time, I blog and craft in the mornings when he takes his naps, and I always end up exhausted at night. 1 month after we came back from Puerto Vallarta and I feel like I need another vacation.
