How to Make Coloring Page Wrapping Paper

Here is awesome way to create your own wrapping paper that is also a coloring page this holiday season!

When I was 12 years old my aunt gave me a coloring book as a Christmas present. I remember that I got a bit mad about it because I was so jealous that my 7 years old sister got a really cool glittery backpack.

I honestly couldn't’ understand why my aunt thought it was a good gift for me. I complained to my mom trying to make her let me exchange gifts with my baby sister. Since she didn't agree I just took my coloring book and sat down outside to color all day long, trying to stay away from everyone, like 12 year olds do.

It took me a few hours until I finished coloring the whole book. I was so happy in the end with my Christmas gift. That was probably one of the first moment I realized how much I love coloring. So I started buying coloring books. A lot of them! I have never stopped buying coloring books and I believe it’s one of the most relaxing, untangling and passive activities you can do before bed.

My husband knows this about me and he totally gets why everything I want for Christmas can be found at Michaels. I could stay all day there buying things for projects but lately I have been going there to buy things to give away too.

In one of those trips to Michaels I got new few markers and colored pencils, and couldn't resist to get a few extra ones for my sister who loves illustrating and she will be visiting us in the next couple of weeks.

I sat down and worked on some sketches and made a gift wrapping paper printable to wrap her pencils. The awesome things is that this wrapping paper is also a coloring page!

Note: A few moths ago the site crashed and we lost all the PDF printables that we uploaded in the site. You can download the image below and use it for your projects. I’m sorry if it doesn’t have a great printing quality.

Here is awesome way to wrap small gifts this holiday season! Create your own gift wrapping paper that is also a coloring page.

Free printable. Download this image, print it in a regular paper sheet and use it as wrapping paper for a small gift or just a fun coloring page for the kids this holiday season.

Another way for you to create your own coloring page or wrapping paper is by following these steps.

How to Create your Own Coloring Page Wrapping Paper:

  1. Create your Design.

Grab a regular printer paper sheet and some gel ink pens and start doodling all over the sheet. Draw some festive illustrations, ornaments, christmas trees, reindeers, but leave the inside of the drawing blank.

  2. Scan your design.

When you finish your doodles, scan your drawing in your scanner/printer.

  3. Prepare your design for printing.

Edit the scan, if possible using your scanner editing options. You can also use a photo editing software or phone app. The key is to add about 80% of brightness and 90% of contrast into the image to make the lines more saturated, and give them that look of a coloring page.

  4. Save your design.

Crop any imperfections on the page if necessary using a photo editing software or phone app and save your new page as PDF or JPG.

  5. Print your wrapping paper page.

Print your coloring page and/or wrapping paper in your printer using a regular size paper sheet. You can scan the page as many times as you like so you can have many coloring pages and share them with others or you could take your design to a local printing shop and print it in a bigger format. It’s that easy!
