Sharing a wall with my neighbor is not fun at all. I realized that it was a problem the day I moved. I went inside the house, everything was empty and all sound was bouncing through the halls.

For the first weeks we tried many things to decrease the noise that we were making. We turned the volume down as much as possible on the TV, radio and music. We even ordered socks for our dog since her steps on the wood floor were so annoying.

We found a few acoustic panels on Amazon that were not as expensive as others we saw on stores. I started thinking of ideas to hide them on the walls.

Then, one day while walking in Michaels, I discovered a package of 5 picture frames on sale and I got excited. My plan was to make some artwork on each picture frame to cover the ugly acoustic panels. But, I felt overwhelmed with the idea of painting so many art frames and I ended up storing the picture frames and acoustic panels in the closet for months.

Then last week, while I was organizing my fabric box, I found some gorgeous mexican fabric. I got excited about the project because I felt that it was going to be easier tan painting the art frames and the colors and prints would look great on the walls, and I was so right.

MATERIALS:

How to Make Pretty Acoustic Panels for Your Home:

1. Measure the fabric and cut it leaving at least 3 inches on each side.

2. Use the thumbnails to nail the fabric to the picture frames. Fold the corners as if you were wrapping a gift.

3. When they are ready, hang the picture frames on your wall. Use tape or just lay the acoustic panels behind the picture frames.

This is an affordable, easy and personalized way to create DIY acoustic panels for your home. What I love most is that you can use any fabric you want. You can also remove the fabric and change the fabric with a new design any time you want.
