Create Artwork for your Home with Coloring Pages

Add more color to your toddler nursery with this creative and fun DIY project!

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Munchkin and Latina Bloggers Connect. All pictures and opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the sponsors that allow me to create new and special content like this for Live Colorful.

My little boy is now more a toddler than a baby. It has been amazing to see him change physically and emotionally so quickly. Now he is starting to say his first words, run after our doggie and deciding what he wants and he doesn’t want to eat for dinner.

His new nursery is a reflection of that change. It has more items that catch his attention and fit his personality and we are trying to make it look as creative and colorful as we can.

One project I had in mind for a long time was to fill the wall behind his crib with a few animal art prints. I started looking for them online, but couldn't find any in a style I liked. Then, I remembered that I had a coloring book with cute illustrated animals that would look so pretty as artwork.I picked my boy’s favorite animals and colored them using some markers.

Check out the video about the process below to make some artwork for your kid’s bedroom below:

He wanted to help, so I let him color a few pages with crayons and chalks. We really had fun that day!

In the end, this project ended up being more special than I expected. Now this wall has memories of us working together on it.

For the frames, I recycled a few that I used on an old project and painted them white. You can see some of the materials I used below.

I hung the frames and added the coloring pages behind them.

Use Coloring Pages as Artwork in your Kid’s Bedroom:

  1. Start by picking an awesome coloring book and rip your favorite pages from it.

  2. Color the coloring pages using your favorite art supplies. I love coloring with gel pens or markers, because the colors are brighter and the lines look cleaner and crispy.

  3. Frame the coloring pages when they are ready.

  4. Hang your new artwork in your kid’s bedroom to add some inexpensive fun into the home decor.

The wall ended up looking so colorful and pretty!

And as the perfect extra detail, we also added a Munchkin STEP™ Diaper Pail in the room. We love it because integrates into the decor so easily and looks fresh, sleek and modern, plus it keep the room organized and smelling fresh.

We are definitely a Munchkin family. We love their products, they are pretty, modern, functional and the packaging is always appealing. We got a few blankets, bottles and nursery accessories just after my son was born, and now that he is more like a little person, we discovered their cups, feedings utensils, bath toys, travel accessories and safety gates. I honestly wouldn’t mention all of these items if I wasn’t happy with them. And honestly, they are the kind of baby things that I wouldn’t mind to see, even when the house is a mess, they always look chic and fun.
