Grab a colorful blanket and a bottle of champagne and have a picnic in the mountains! This summer is so hot and nice that I’m craving a picnic in the mountains so badly. I love taking a picnic basket that we got from our wedding, it’s a pain in the butt walking with it for a long time but it is for sure a sweet detail for a romantic morning.

I just chose my 5 favorite ways to make any picnic a little more colorful and happy:

1. Take some colorful pillows with you. Seriously, pillows make everything better!

2. Hang some lanterns to add a punch of color. Paper lanterns are cheap and easy to hang, they also look adorable.

3. Fruits, vegetables, candy, all have beautiful colors. Take your favorites with you.

4. Feeling creative? What about personalizing your utensils with acrylic paint or washi tape. Such a beautiful detail.

5. You can take some multi colored chairs. Add some paper goodies to make them look prettier.

By the way, tomorrow i’m heading out to California Yay! I’m so excited about all the new places we will visit on our way, I can’t stop reading about the Grand Canyon, super excited! The blog will probably be a bit quiet this week but I will try to post about my travels soon.  - Xo, Elba

I’m taking the day to pack more and more. Wanna see my messy house? Check it out here. Luckily and thanks to our non stopping packing day, that was yesterday, today’s is looking pretty good. I’m impressed! We are almost done packing all the stuff we need to ship, and then its gonna be time to start organizing all the stuff we are taking for the trip. What is happening is that we are not renting a Uhaul for the move. We are taking as much as possible in the car with us and the rest is gonna be shipped, so it gets tricky because we need to select the things we wanna have with us and pack extremely well the things we want to send in the mail, not to mention, we need clothes, shoes and other crap for the two weeks we are gonna be traveling from here to there. Everything is so confusing that I’m not sure how I haven’t lost my mind.

I would love to share some tips for packing, moving and how to not lose your mind with all this craziness, it’s just so difficult to sit and blog about them for some reason. I have been trying to make time to put these posts together but my head is in other stuff.  I just want to be done with this so I can concentrate on other things. Seriously, I don’t know how other bloggers do it, my head is threatening to stop working if I tried to make it do to many different things at once.

At the moment I would love to have some magic power and transported all our things to our new place with a magic wand, wouldn’t that be amazing? – Xo, Elba

OK guys here I am, enjoying the beginning of a new week and loving a calm and invigorating feeling that brings turquoise to my mind. I have to admit that the stress of moving is still killing me but I need to distract myself with some amazingly colorful stuff, don’t you think?

This color is so perfect for summer house decor, even the smallest details bring so much life, it’s really refreshing.

Other things I love lately:

1. Sand and turquoise together, even in nail polish these colors look calm and beachy.
2. How to decorate a perfect turquoise table? Check this out, the effect is stunning.
3. Tiny sculptures. I had to add these cute guys to my turquoise favorites list.
4. Gosh I’m obsessed with turquoise eyeliner and eye shadow and ever since I saw this picture I knew I had to copy the look someday, this summer sounds like the perfect time for that. Any advice on how to create this eye effect?

Color Mood: Feeling Fresh

I have to admit that this warm weather put a smile on my face. The sun reminds me of the beauty of a happy yellow tone. Summer is here and the days are warm, parties are going  on and traveling adventures are getting closer, everything sounds and feels amazing! How is your summer going so far?

1. I just found Sara Lynn Paige Photography and I fell in love with these calm and colorful images. Her blog is such a sweet space to spend the day.

2. Let’s talk about yellow chairs. I have an obsession with yellow chairs for some reason, they just pop and make any kind of space happy. What do you think?

3. You should really try this! Lemony white chocolate cheesecake recipe. Do I need to say more? Yumm!

 4. Have you ever painted your nails yellow? I tried it for the first time last summer and now I’m hooked. I love the dramatic effect, it’s so bright!!

This is the before and after the yard sale of my tiny apartment. I took the first picture last Thursday morning and the other one today after selling all our stuff last Saturday. Can you see the sadness in it’s abstract face?

We want to have some time with family and friends before we leave Asheville, and having that yard sale last weekend instead of waiting until next week was the best thing we could have done, even if we need to live like this for the next two weeks. The house is a disaster, it’s stressing me out, but what happens is that you never know if you are gonna be able to sell everything just with one yard sale, luckily we did great with ours and now that the house is almost empty, some big pieces are going to my in laws, that’s one less thing to worry about even if I feel sad in the morning when I can’t find a place to put my coffee.

This was our first apartment as a married couple aww!!  I’m so happy for the next adventure but gosh, I’m gonna miss this lovely tiny space!
