Every year I get excited about summer. My favorite part is being able to enjoy outdoor activities with the family, and also spend more time on our patio, sitting down with fresh squeezed juice while my toddler plays in his mini pool. It’s so peaceful!

When ANNIE SELKE invited me to help spread the word about their new Palm Springs Summer Collection, an exploration of Palm Springs style and happy, bright pops of color, I knew that their products would be the ideal accessories for my home and patio!

I was really happy reading more about the Annie Selke Companies. Their philosophy and goals resonate deeply with me. I appreciate the fact that they are committed to customer satisfaction, employee well-being, and the world, making ethical and socially responsible choices and decisions. Plus the products are beautiful, the perfect timeless lifestyle products that celebrate creativity, color and happiness.

This is how my patio looks this summer, doesn’t it make you smile? I selected a few items from Annie Selke’s Palm Springs Collection for this space. First, a COLORFUL RUG that is fun and functional. It’s now the perfect place to sit and read magazines while my toddler is playing on the patio. I got PILLOWS too, which are now my new obsession, the prints are simple, timeless and the quality of the textiles is truly amazing. I have been wanting to get a STORAGE HAMPER for a long time, this one is perfect to store the outdoor pillows next to the patio door every night. Other things I’m excited to have from Annie Selke’s Palm Springs Catalog are two of their vibrant and ULTRA SOFT TOWELS, the colors are just fantastic!

How to Make an Amazing Easy Bean Bag Chair

How to Make an Amazing Easy Bean Bag Chair | El tutorial más fácil para hacer un sillón puff | Live Colorful

I’m excited to share a new project created in collaboration with Digital Fabrics. It’s an amazing simple DIY tutorial to make a bean bag chair using 2 meters of heavyweight fabric (147 cm wide). I used one of my favorites designs from the LIVE COLORFUL collection, named cheery.

I was inspired by a simple tutorial that I found in Pinterest. I used the idea, but added some fun curves to make it look more organic. It was such a fun project and so easy to make!

MATERIAL:

  1. 2 meters of heavyweight fabric. I used waratah drill (147 cm wide). Design: Cheery.
  2. 2 packs of bean bag chair refill (100 Liter refill bags) (affiliate link)
  3. Sewing machine
  4. Thread
  5. Scissors
  6. Pins

STEPS:

  1. Fold the fabric and measure approximately 30 cm on one side of the fabric. Cut a curve.
  2. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise again. Measure approximately 15 cm on one side of the fabric. Cut a small curve.
  3. When you unfold your fabric, it should look like this.
  4. Then fold the fabric again, but backwards and add a few pins to keep the fabric in place.
  5. It’s time to start sewing!
  6. First, sew those two sides of the bean bag and leave an opening of about 20 cm to be able to fill the bean bag later.
  7. Fold the fabric again, so you can see the front of the bean bag. Add pins and sew to close the bean bag.
  8. Use a zigzag stitch to sew along the raw edge of your hem.
  9. Turn the fabric inside out and start filling the bean bag!
  10. Hand sew the bean bag closed.

Tip:

You can make a bean bag liner using the same tutorial so you can wash the bean bag later 😉

The color palette was inspired by handcrafts I have found around Mexico and South America. The designs are all about making a statement and having fun. They are bold, simple and really playful.

All the designs can be printed on a big range of high-quality fabrics, such as chiffon, matte lycra, fleece, cotton linen, wattle and many other options for the fashion and home decor industry.

The prints are fun, bright and happy, and I think they are perfect for home decor DIY projects such as curtains, pillows, outdoor furniture, upholstery, bedding and things like that! You can find great tips about the characteristics of every fabric here so you can pick one that works for your project.

Some inspiration for you:

1. Easy DIY Curtains. Recently I shared my new curtains DIY video using my design named Lemonade. The fabric I got for this projects is Waratah Drill 100% polyester, 147 cm wide.
