What Colors to Wear to a Wedding

what colors to wear to a wedding

One of my friends is getting married this September. Isn’t it true that one of the first things that comes to mind when you get an invitation is, “what the heck am I gonna wear?” It happens to me all the time, it happened to me two weeks ago when I opened my friend’s wedding invitation.

I always put a bit more effort into choosing a color scheme for my outfit that goes well with the season. In spring my favorites colors for a party dress are yellow, pink and coral and other pastels tones work well in that season too. In summer, aqua and a sand, anything that reminds you of about the beach. For fall, orange, brown and leaf green, i love the idea of camouflage myself with the nature. Fall is one of my favorite wedding seasons of the year. For winter, I love when people wear scarlet red or grape purple with some metallic accessories.

I don’t know a lot about when to wear a short dress or a long dress, I just find a dress in a color I love and go with that, but keep in mind what time of day the wedding will be before you chose a dress. If its daytime, try to wear something light, maybe even a short dress, at night try a longer dress, maybe something sparkly or shiny.

By the way. Here is a quick quiz. Do you think that guest shouldn’t wear the same colors as the bridesmaid? or it doesn’t matter? Just curious. – Xo, Elba

Good Idea for selecting outfit colors.

Talk about coincidence! I’m going to be a bridesmaid for a good friend’s wedding in September too! The couple is going to have a 3-day wedding party (imagine how the guests will need triple efforts to choose the outfit!) I love how you match the seasons with the choice of colors for the outfit and accessories to go with it. In my situation, the bride has stated the color scheme for the guests, though 🙂
