Last Minute Valentine’s Day DIY: Brownie with Sprinkles

Last Minute Valentines Day Idea. Brownie with Sprinkles

What makes Valentine’s day special for you? For me, well, something about hearts, red balloons and chocolate deliciousness.

I wanted to celebrate with these LOVELY things and had this idea in a dream, a huge heart shaped brownie cake made with colorful sprinkles and flowers! and this is what I come up with, not exactly what I had in my mind (like if I had any idea) but a really cute project anyway.

How to Make  Something like This:

1.Just so you know, I am not the greatest baker in the world, I would love to be, but I am simply not that good ;( So, to avoid any embarrassment, meaning, a baking fail, I used one of those easy to make brownie boxes. I followed the instructions and baked a brownie cake in a 9in circular pan.

2.When the brownie was ready it looked like this.3.Then, I drew a heart on a piece of paper and used it as a mold.4.I was super careful and used a kitchen knife to cut the heart shape.5.When it was ready, it was time to have fun with the sprinkle design. I drew a draft idea on paper before I started, just to know how to start and what colors to use.6.Although my idea was to create something that looked like mexican embroidery, which is why I used those kind of sprinkles that look like thread, i felt like it didn’t work out quite as well as I imagined. Even so, I love it and as a good proud brownie mama, I think it’s beautiful!Last Minute Valentines Day Idea. Brownie with Sprinkles

Tell me, how do you celebrate Valentine's day? Do you usually cook or go out for dinner?

We are planning on going out that day, but I am all about coming home, opening a bottle of wine and enjoy a delicious brownie with my honey.
