I was planning on making something with my baby’s adorable feet for Mother’s Day, since he is growing so fast and I don’t want to forget how tiny and cute his tiny feet are, but I wasn't sure what to make. Then, I discovered a personalized mug kit box similar to this one here buried deep in the closet in my office, I bought it a few months ago and I forgot about it until last week.

I honestly didn't know what to draw in the mug, but when I thought about adding my baby’s foot print I knew it was the best idea for sure! I was going to be able to remember this moment every time I have coffee with this cute mug in the mornings :)

Making it was really easy. I just needed to follow the instructions on the kit which were basically to make my design by adding the paint in my baby’s foot and pressing his tiny foot in the center of the mug. When I was done, I turned on the oven and put the mug in for a few minutes.

If you can’t find a kit like this, you could just buy acrylic enamel paint like these ones here or oil based paint pens that are permanent in ceramic and other materials like these ones here. I wouldn’t advice on adding the acrylic enamel paint on your baby’s skin, although the paint I shared is supposed to be non toxic, that’s totally a personal decision and you should read the ingredients in the package first, but maybe you can trace his foot in paper and then trace it again in the mug and paint it yourself with a brush. The oil based paint pens would be great for tracing shapes too, they sell them in a variety of colors and you can doodle more specific details in your mug which is pretty nice.

Since I used the kit, I just had a few color options, but it turned out great and it’s definitely a great gift idea for Mother's Day or Father's Day and a excuse to make something special and one of a kind with your kids and your family.
