MATERIALS:

The quantity of fabric might vary depending on your dog’s size.

How To Make an Adorable Unicorn Costume for your Dog:

  1. Create the template for your unicorn costume.

First you have to make your own template or sewing pattern for this costume. Something like the image below that I created using thick orange cardstock. To make the template, take a piece of paper, fold it and trace a simple shape of a dog like you see in the image below. When is folded is pretty close to something like an 1/8 of a circle but with some extra curves. It's much easier when you draw the template folded in half, so when you cut it and open it it’s identical. Test the paper template on your dog to see if it is too big or too small.

2. Copy and cut the template using the fabric.

Check out how the hood and the body should look like below.

To create the hood, trace the semicircular shape you created above (template #1) following the lines into your white fabric. You'll need two pieces to be able to sew it in the middle so it fits like a hood.

To make the body of the costume you need trace and cut the bigger piece you created (template #2). Similar to the hood, trace two parts. It should look like the image below.

3. Sew torso and hood together so the costume has two sides. (See image below for more details).
