Celebrating Life

The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap

I participated in The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap that "Do What You Love for Life" organized last month. This was the first time I entered to this global event and it was pretty exciting. So let me explain a little bit about it. The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap is an event where people from all the world exchange postcards and make new friends. After you Sign up, you get creative and make a postcard, you will receive the name and address of your new friend in the world with who you will exchange postcards. Then you go to the post office and send your postcard. Mine went to Australia! How cool is that? Like you, your friend should be doing the same so both of you receive a happy postcard in the mail. I received mine a few weeks after and it was so beautiful!

The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap

So here is a sneak peek of the postcard I made. They always have themes and this time was Celebration. I decided to go for a CELEBRATE... LIFE theme and I knew since the beginning that lots of colors would be needed. I drew a cute party hat and left an empty space for a picture, I also added some colorful confetti using thread, a needle, some flowers and other cute stuff. On the back I left a space to write down all the reasons why we should celebrate life in a list of things I'm grateful for...

I'm really happy with my postcard but then I saw others in a Flickr group I joined for the event and got a bit nervous, some of them are beyond awesome! Lots of amazing talented people. You should take peek here.

Anyway, I wanted to share about this cool thing I did last month. I hope my friend received my postcard and I really hope she smiled when she saw it. Have a wonderful weekend!
