Christmas and New Year may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean that giving gifts is over. Many children in Latin America and Spain receive most of their gifts from the Tres Reyes Magos (aka The Three Wise Men) on January 6th. The way we celebrated the tradition growing up in Mexico involves placing one of our old shoes with a wish list inside it under the Christmas tree and in the morning the shoes are full of (or surrounded by) toys and gifts from the Tres Reyes Magos. We also eat the rosca de reyes in the afternoon, a traditional oval shaped bread that symbolizes a crown and has small dolls baked inside representing the baby Jesus.After the Tres Reyes Magos we finally take down the Christmas tree. I never got gifts from Santa Claus on Christmas and I remember that January 6th was always a source of joy and excitement!The day of this cool celebration is coming soon and to honor it I have teamed up with Vanessa from The Queen of Swag to create a printable of adorable Tres Reyes Magos crowns.
