How to Find a Unique Christmas Decor Style
This is a sponsored campaign in collaboration with Hobby Lobby. All pictures and opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the sponsors that allow me to create new and special content like this for Live Colorful.I know that I can be as creative as I want when we talk about Christmas decorations. I used to like to change styles every year, and play with different color combinations, and themes. It was fun, but I also realized that I accumulated many random Christmas decorations that did not match at all. After my toddler was born, I started to feel more enthusiastic about collecting beautiful, but also meaningful items that could bring back family memories and that would look amazing for years to come. That brought me to the question about, how could I find my own Christmas decor style? A style my whole family would love, and that would also match my home decor style. When Hobby Lobby invited me to collaborate with them I got excited. The holiday season is something I cherish even more now that I’m a mom. I also knew that looking at their beautiful Christmas department would help me find my own Christmas style.Jax loved the trip we made to our local Hobby Lobby. We could feel the Christmas joy from all every corner in the store, and I have to say that we really enjoyed the way the items were displayed, by style, theme and color palette. It was so cheerful! The trip to Hobby Lobby gave me an idea of the style of Christmas decorations I want to incorporate this year. I’m excited!
Here are some things that helped me find my Christmas decor style, they might help you too!
1. What’s your Home Decor Style?
Look at the style of your furniture, artwork and other decorative items. Are they traditional, contemporary, modern, minimalistic? I recently fell in love with the idea of getting basic items in neutral colors such as white, black, beige and gray. That way I can add elements in different bright colors to cheer up the decorations every year.
2. Decide a Christmas Tree Style
I decided to get an artificial one in white. The reason is that a of of my furniture pieces are white as well, so I knew that the Christmas tree would blend great with my home decorations.
3. Invest in Basics
A great Christmas tree, Christmas wreath, garlands, Christmas lights and a package of Christmas ornaments is a great way to start. You can always update your Christmas decor every year with a couple of trending items without the necessity of investing too much money again, and without sacrificing the joy of going shopping for christmas decorations.
4. Pick a color palette.
This is also something you could get from analyzing the artwork, pillows, flower vases and other decorative items from your home. What colors do you see in your house? Getting inspired by a color palette also helps keep everything looking coordinated, even when you mix themes or styles.I want to collect special ornaments for the Christmas tree. Something about getting ornaments that mean something for you or your family, such as the pink drill that describe my passion for crafts and DIY at perfection!Visit your local Hobby Lobby and get your Christmas decor inspiration this season! This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby.
