Valentine’s Day is an exciting time! But it always takes me by surprise. I always feel like I go from Christmas trees and holiday gifts, to suddenly see hearts and flowers everywhere in seconds.
This lovely time is one of my favorites, it's kind of refreshing and a good reminder that spring is getting closer and closer. It’s also close to some of my favorite people birthdays, which is always exciting.
As soon as I get closet to this time of the year, I let myself get inspired by the theme of the season. One of the places where I get creative with the Valentine’s Day theme is while I paint at night. I like to doddle and journal with watercolors often, and I recently sketched a simple heart and filled it with pink and red flowers.
I honestly didn’t have any plans for the illustration, but then I saw it from far away and instantly realized that they would be awesome Valentine’s Day gift tags!

This heart shaped design is extra simple, which I love because you can use them in many different ways.
Gift tags was my first idea, but you can also make cupcake toppers, use them in your next scrapbook project, or even glue them in a big paper clip and use them as bookmarks.
