DIY: A Colorful Cork Board (Organize by Color)
If you knew me, you would know that I really try to keep things organized. I started writing a list of "things to do" in a notebook I bought especially for that, and it worked, for a week. For some reason I can't keep myself away from little notes on random pieces of paper, if I'm in a restaurant, I write on a napkin, if I'm in the mall, I write on the back of a receipt... I always end up with three or four little pieces of paper in my bag! It's like I can't think if I don't have a mess of paper around. These little pieces of paper normally end up on the cork board I have above the computer, so I can remember all the ideas I had while I was shopping for shampoo or getting the car washed, you know, those ideas that tend to be the brilliant ones, and we almost always forget.
Recently, I started feeling like all those notes were getting lost with so much mess on my cork board, I was pinning all sorts of things there, one on top of another, it was so disorganized. I knew it was time to do something about it and make it feel clean, fun and functional.
MATERIALS:
Cork board, Acrylic paint, Brushes, Tape
STEPS:
- Make a design. I divided the cork board into four triangles but you try squares, hexagons or any other shape you like, I just felt that triangles were fun and easy, I love easy! Use tape to separate the shapes and paint freely.
- Fill the shapes with color! I used acrylic paint and a medium sized brush. I painted two layers.
- Let it dry for a couple of hours and start having fun!
This is how my new cork board looks now:I hope you like it!!!
